 Excellent Case -- But Check That it's the Updated Model! August 31, 2010

I highly recommend this cover (however, see my note below).
After checking out several different iPad cases, I purchased this one from my local Apple store. I was looking for a case that was simple, but which provided protection for the iPad. I also wanted it to have the feel of a book cover since I use my iPad mainly as a reading device.
Originally, I bought the Apple case; it was OK, but seemed a little thin. This one from Marware had what I was looking for. After using this case for a little while, I can confirm that it's made well, is nice to hold, and has a minimal design so there is not too much extra stuff around the iPad -- just enough to do what's necessary. Even the company name is tastefully placed in a subtle fashion on the cover. The stitching seems tight. I like that it has a holder inside, which I use to tuck in a screen-cleaning cloth.
The elastic band closure is simple and holds the case closed very well, and it stays out of the way when not in use.
The cost is in line with all the other cases out there.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The company appears to have updated this item some time in the recent past. The first one I purchased had a flap of stiff material above the docking port making it nearly impossible to insert the dock connector. I returned it to the store the same day. The sales associate and I looked at another one (apparently an updated model). Right away, we could see it had more clearance allowing the dock connector to insert easily. We also noticed that the newer model had a wider strap to hold the iPad in place. If you're purchasing this case, check that it's the updated model with the wider strap and more open area for the dock connector.
 Poor quality - falling apart after 2 months August 23, 2010

The leather cover is awesome. The functionality is awesome (except for the weird elastic hand grip thing).
Unfortunately, it has starter to fall apart after only 2 months of use. The problem is the microfiber that holds the iPad and the rubber seams. The rubber is separating from the microfiber. It's probably still OK, but it's starting to look like crap. The microfiber also stretched so much after 1 week that I had to put a piece of foam to secure the iPad.
Marware replaced my unit, but I sold it on eBay as I have lost confidence in the product. I have instead switched to a screen protector/GelaSkin combo. I will probably order Griffin Technology's A-Frame for a stand.

 Ipad cover August 19, 2010
Good Guy
Overall very pleased with this notebook cover for ipad. Quality is top notch both inside and out. From outside, looks like a quality notebook, most people wouldn't even be able to tell there's an ipad inside.
Inside materials are soft and of high quality, great compliment to ipad. Mechanism to secure ipad and "wrap" it is good, only downside is tab at top used to secure ipad tends to get loose and needs to be pushed in from time to time. If they had velcro or some material to solidly attach it, would be a helpful improvement.
I did see someone with an Apple ipad cover, this is far more functional and better looking at a much lower price, there is really NO comparison between the two. Apple's looks cheap compared to this.

Well padded which was important to me since I travel with it a lot. It also is very nice looking and looks elegant as opposed to looking like it's made from plastic.
